Editorial Process: Workflow and Policies

1. Pre-evaluation (Normative and Methodological Control)

Upon receiving a manuscript, the editorial team conducts an exhaustive technical review to verify compliance with the following minimum requirements:

  • Thematic Scope: Alignment with Management, Education, and associated Technologies.
  • Template: Mandatory use of the Official Template.
  • Length and Authorship: Maximum of 15 pages. Up to 4 authors (research) or 3 authors (reviews).
  • Rigor in Systematic Reviews: Review articles must include the PRISMA method (or similar), searches in high-impact databases (WoS, Scopus), and a minimum of 25-30 analyzed references.
  • Ethics and AI: Explicit declaration regarding ethical criteria and the use of Artificial Intelligence in the development of the work.
  • Publication Frequency: Verification of the author rotation policy (maximum of 1 article every 6 months per author).
Phase Outcomes:
  • Initial Acceptance: Proceeds to peer review.
  • Return for Improvements: A single opportunity for immediate adjustment is granted.
  • Administrative Rejection: If the manuscript fails to meet minimum standards or exceeds the permitted publication frequency, it will be rejected with an APC refund.

2. Peer Review (Scientific Evaluation)

Approved articles undergo a quality and scientific rigor evaluation using the single-blind review method:

  • Reviewers: A minimum of two (2) external senior specialists.
  • Anonymity: Reviewers are aware of the author's identity, but the author remains unaware of the reviewers' identities.
  • Criteria: Originality, methodological validity, coherence of results, and bibliographic currency are evaluated.
  • Response Time: The decision (acceptance, changes, or rejection) is communicated in less than 6 weeks after assignment.

3. Policies on Rejection and APC

A manuscript is considered for final rejection only after two opportunities for improvement have been exhausted. If the manuscript is rejected at this advanced stage, NO refund of the 110 USD (APC) will be issued, as these funds cover the administrative and editorial management costs incurred.

• 2025 Rejection Rate: 20.8% (63 articles out of 303 received)

4. On Publication and Periodicity

Approved articles are scheduled for the next available issue based on chronological order of final approval and two key criteria:

  • Chronological order of final approval.
  • Diversity Quota: Strict compliance with international indexing standards, which limit a single author to a maximum of two (2) articles per year, published in different semesters.

Revista Espacios guarantees the necessary marking and meta-tagging to ensure maximum visibility and indexing.

5. Article Withdrawal

An article will be withdrawn only for serious breaches of scientific integrity (plagiarism, fraud, unreliable findings, or hidden conflicts of interest).

⚠️ Management: The DOI will be notified, including the word WITHDRAWN before the title. The author is responsible for managing the withdrawal in external databases. The APC is non-refundable in these cases.

6. Ethical and Legal Standards

All submissions are governed by the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC 4.0) license:

• Attribution: Proper credit must be given, and the original source must be cited.
• Non-Commercial: The material may not be used for profit by third parties.
