Revista Espacios maintains, as a general policy of action, the continuous improvement of its editorial and administrative processes, to guarantee the quality, originality, and impact of the scientific articles that it publishes exclusively in electronic format, to offer its readers and other users a simple and direct navigation, as well as providing agile and efficient procedures for the reception, evaluation, monitoring and improvement of the manuscripts received, following internationally accepted ethical guidelines.

Authors' obligations

The authors who sign an original research article must have contributed significantly to its preparation. Likewise, they must agree with the final results presented and submit the work to the journal for evaluation and subsequent publication.

Authors must respect the publication rules of Revista Espacios (see rules).

Authors should avoid fragmentation of research articles and refrain from submitting manuscripts that essentially describe the same research to other journals unless it is the resubmission of a rejected manuscript or one that was withdrawn from a previous publication.

Conflict of interests

A conflict of interest arises when, in a particular manuscript, any of the actors involved in the editorial process, be they authors, reviewers, or editors, maintain links with activities, people, or institutions that may influence the opinions, arguments, or judgments of any of these inappropriately.

Authors, reviewers, and editors should disclose beforehand any financial or other conflicts of interest that may improperly influence the results or interpretation of a manuscript.

Editors' obligations

Editors of a peer-reviewed journal have the responsibility and authority to accept or reject an article based on the recommendations of their support team and peer reviewers. The editors reserve the right to withdraw any manuscript received, accepted, or already published in case of plagiarism or scientific fraud. Likewise, they will facilitate the publication of corrections or retractions in the event of other types of errors detected. In cases where the editors consider that the manuscript received is far from the areas of interest or the journal's scope, or does not meet the adequate depth of content, or is not written in an accepted language, they may reject the manuscript before sending it to external review.

Editors will review received manuscripts for intellectual content only without considering other aspects such as race, ethnicity, gender, sexual preferences, religious beliefs, or political philosophies of the authors.

Editors must preserve the anonymity of reviewers.

Editors must be aware of possible conflicts of interest, whether academic, financial, commercial, or between the actors involved in the publication (editors, reviewers, authors, and related institutions).

Reviewers' obligations

Peer review is an essential component of scientific communications. Therefore, Revista Espacios adopts the single-blind peer review modality in its editorial process and uses the figure of a Reviewer Coordinator to facilitate communication between editors, reviewers, and authors.

Reviewers must respect the intellectual independence of the authors.

The reviewers will receive from the Editorial Committee the necessary recommendations to make a fair and objective evaluation of the quality of the manuscript, its supporting information, and the maintenance of scientific and literary standards. For this, they have an evaluation form to facilitate their journey through the entire document, declare their observations and final decision. (See evaluation sheet)

Reviewers should treat manuscripts received for evaluation as confidential documents and, therefore, not discuss or show them to other people.

The reviewers' evaluation not only supports the editors' decision-making, but also, and thus is particularly requested by Revista Espacios, should help the authors improve their articles with their observations and suggestions.
